Walgreens Deals 1/4/09 - 1/10/09

I just got back from Walgreens. Normally, I'd wait until Monday or Tuesday to go, but these deals were just too hot to wait. I'm fairly sure these items will sell out quickly. Let me break it down.

Transaction #1:

Electrasol Powerball Tabs 20 ct. - Retail $5.99
Sale Price $3.49 - $1.50 Easy Saver Rebate = $1.99
Use coupon from today's Smart Source insert for $2.50/1 = .51 OVERAGE!!!!!
To sweeten this deal, I managed to find two packages on the back of the shelf that had 25% more at no additional cost. SCORE! So basically, Walgreens paid me $1.02 to take about two months worth of Electrasol tabs! Whoo hooooooooooo! :)

Flintstones Vitamins, 60 ct. - Retail $7.49 each
Sale Price $5.00. This week's promotion is to buy $20 worth of these vitamins, and receive a $10 register reward (good for $10 off your next purchase). I had 4 - $1/1 coupons. Find them in today's Smart Source insert (Nestle cover) or print more here.
There is also a mail in rebate in today's Smart Source insert for these vitamins. You can get half the amount you spend on the vitamins (after coupon discount) back by mail, up to $10. SO...
4@ $5.00 = $20.00 - $4.00 (4 - $1 off coupons) = $16.00 - $10 RR - $8 rebate = $2.00 OVERAGE!!!!!

Garnier Fructis Shampoo, Conditioner, and Styling Products - Retail $3.99 each
Sale Price $2.99 - $2.00 Easy Saver coupon (this is a store coupon, so you can stack it with a manufacturer coupon) = .99
You can find $1/1 coupons in the Red Plum inserts from today, 11/9/08, and 10/5/08.
I had 8 of these coupons, so my 8 Garnier items were FREE + .01 each!!!!

Cars melamine bowl $1.00
This was my filler item. (As I have mentioned before, you need to have as many items as coupons at Walgreens or it won't accept all of them). It was only $1.00, and Dylan will LOVE it! :)

Transaction #2

One A Day Vitamins, 100 tablets - Retail $9.49 each
Sale Price $7.00. Same promotion as the Flintstones deal above. There are also coupons in today's Smart Source insert, and they are part of the same mail-in rebate. You can print more coupons here.
4 @ $7.00 = $28.00 - $4.00 (4 - $1 off coupons) = $24.00 - $10 RR - $10 rebate = $4.00
$1.00 per box!!!

The reason I made my purchases in two transactions is because Walgreens will only print the $10 Register Reward once for the same deal. Even though the One A Day and Flintstones vitamins are different products, they are part of the same deal. Maybe it would have worked, but you just never know.

I spent $43.97 out of pocket today. My receipts showed a total savings of 68.92. Add to that the $20 worth of Register Rewards, $3 Easy Saver Rebate, and $18 worth of mail-in-rebates for the vitamins. That equals another $41.00 off, which I will take off my purchase price. That means I spent about $2.97 on all the stuff I got today. WOW! Sorry, this is a complicated week. Just ask if you have questions!
