Now that we know we're having a boy, I CAN'T WAIT to start the preparations. It's ALL I think about. So yesterday I said to Brandon, "I think I'll start clearing out the spare bedroom so we can start getting Dylan's big boy room ready." That was at 4:00 pm. By 10:00 pm, it was done. Completely cleared out. I even stopped midway to make dinner! There was a lot to sort through. The spare bedroom had become the place where we store things that we didn't know what else to do with. Stuff that should just be in storage. So I sorted and packed it all away in plastic tubs. I dismantled the spare bed and stored that too. I moved our desktop computer and computer desk to the family room. The room is now empty, except for a dresser that Dylan will be using.
Tonight, it was off to Lowe's for paint. I have quite an ambitious project ahead of me, and I'm dreading it. I DON'T LIKE PAINTING!!!! We bought paint that has very low VOC's and should be pretty safe for me to use while pregnant. Can I still use the pregnancy excuse to get out of it though? It's going to look great when it's finished, but UGH! I don't want to do it!!!!
Once the room is painted, I'm going to deep steam the carpet (might as well since its empty). Then we'll move Dylan in! He's excited for his big boy room, and I think the transition is going to go well. We're hoping to have the room done by Christmas. Then, it's on to the NURSERY!!!! :)

Isn't it so funny how you get the ITCH to get things ready. I had that with Abby too, it was ALL I could thinking about as well. It's fun too. Don't feel bad about the painting thing, I used that excuse too! :)
