We made it safely to Amsterdam. Our flight was good, but long. We are
about to board the plane to Ethiopia.

*Submit preliminary application - Submitted 4/17/09

*Receive notification of approval of the pre-application - Received 4/20/09

*Apply for your passports - Already have passports! :)

*Submit formal application - Submitted on 4/29/09

*Receive approval of your formal application and assigned a social worker - Approved and assigned 5/26/09

*Obtain the I600A Orphan Packet from USCIS (United States Citizen and Immigration Service) - Obtained 6/1/09

*Begin the Home Study - First meeting 6/1/09

*Second Home Study Meeting - 6/4/09

*Third Home Study Meeting - Home Study complete and approved - 6/11/09

*Begin the Immigration Pre-filing Process by completing the I600A form - Mailed on 6/16/09

*Complete Hague training requirements - Completed 6/18/09

*Receive finger printing appointment from USCIS - Received on 7/7/09. Scheduled for 7/28/09!

*Inked on 7/28/09!

*Receive USCIS Approval - Received 8/20/09!

*Complete the dossier - COMPLETED 8/27/09!!!!

*Get dossier documents state sealed in GR - State sealed 8/28/09

*Drop off completed dossier at headquarters - dropped off 8/28/09!!!!

*Bethany sends dossier to D.C. for authentication - sent 9/18/09

*Bethany sends the Home Study and/or dossier to Ethiopia - SENT 10/2/09!!!!!!!!!!!

*Await the referral of your child from Ethiopia - Waiting since October 2, 2009.........

*Receive the referral for your child - Received June 9, 2010!!!!!!!!!!!

*Accept the referral and complete the acceptance documents - June 17, 2010

*Applied for court appointment - July 15, 2010

*Receive a scheduled court date - October 8, 2010!

*Travel to Ethiopia to attend court - Travel scheduled for October 22-28!

*Court Date #1 - October 26, 2010

*Court Date #2 - November 4, 2010 - PASSED!

*Secure a birth certificate and apply for child's passport and visa - BC secured 11/26/10

*Notified that our case was selected to be investigated by the US Embassy in Addis Ababa - 12/8/10

*Received a copy of L's birth certificate and passport - 12/9/10

*Receive visa approval through USCIS - Travel Call 2/1/11

*In our arms forever - 2/7/11

*Embassy Appointment - 2/8/11

*HOME!!!!! - 2/11/11

*Post-placement visit #1 - 2/16/11
