Referral Anniversary

Last week marked the one year anniversary of receiving our official referral for our sweet little Lemlem. We saw her face for the very first time on June 2, 2010, when her picture and profile came in a waiting child email from our agency. It was impossible for us to ignore her sad little face, and we just had to give it a shot at making her part of our family. It's quite and amazing story actually, and you can read all about it here. Here is the picture of the little girl who stole our hearts one year ago.

One week later, on June 9, 2010, we got the call informing us that our family was chosen and little Lemlem became our official referral. The picture above was the only picture we had of her for 6 weeks. We were so worried about her sad little expression, and desperate to see a picture of her looking happy. A year later, it's hard to believe she is the same little girl.
