Delays

Well, it's not looking good for getting our travel call. We had hoped to leave a week from today, and have our embassy appointment on December 21st. Unfortunately, there are some adoption agencies working in Ethiopia that do not hold up the same standard of ethics as our agency. Because of this, the US Embassy has decided to do across-the-board investigations of adoption cases. This is a good thing in the long run. Hopefully it will help weed out agencies who are not following the correct practices, and it will keep the Ethiopian adoption system healthy. We are just the "lucky" ones to get caught up in the middle of it.

At this point, we don't know how long our delay will be. It could be something that is taken care of in a few days, or it could (and I think more likely, WILL) take weeks...even months. We don't know.

Please keep our family in your prayers. We know of some other families who are caught up in this situation too, so pray for them as well. It is really hard to understand why this had to happen to us. Our little girl is waiting for us to come back and get her. Knowing that is very hard. We are trying to find the positive in this, but it's pretty difficult at the moment. Thanks for your prayers. Keep 'em coming!!!

Thinking of you! Stay strong. I can't imagine what you are going through, but God has a plan. He always has a plan.
