I've realized this morning that waiting for an adoption travel call is very much like waiting to go into labor. The child's room is ready. All the "baby" clothes are washed and neatly put away. The bags are packed (almost). Friends and family are checking in frequently to see if there's any news. I am trying anything I can think of to get information as to when we can expect our call. I compare this to the constant walking, eating spicy food, jumping up and down, etc. that pregnant women do to try to start labor. And I JUMP every time my phone rings or an email comes in, hoping its THE call. This is comparable to scrutinizing every little contraction to try to figure out if there is a labor pattern.
For those of you who are mommies of biological kids, now you have an idea of what we're going through at the moment. Will this "labor" ever start? Bring on the heavy contractions! I wonder if there's an epidural? ;)
