Wonderful. Brave. Insane.

It seems like each time I tell a new person about our adoption, the conversation goes something like this;

"Oh, wow! You're adopting a child from Ethiopia? That is wonderful! What a wonderful thing you are doing! How old is your daughter?"

She's 3.5 years old

"Oh...so not a baby? Wow. You're really brave. Is this your first child?"

No, we have two biological sons. A 4 year old and a 7 month old.

"What? That's crazy! You must be insane! Seriously! That's INSANE!"

I can't tell you how many times I've had this conversation since we received our referral for L. I just smile...because I know they have no idea.

We are not that wonderful, or brave. And no, not even insane. It's very simple.

WE ARE BLESSED. INSANELY BLESSED!
